instead of one value when can have multiple values within in an object (complex)

algorithms and collections of numbers -> and later objects

find the biggest number, order the largest to smallest, new number placed in proper location, etc. 

characteristics - height, width, weight, IQ, etc. (different values)
searching for the match for search, organize etc.


array homogeneous - elements (same) ordered (have some methods)
heterogeneous aggregate - data properties(structure, class) anarchistic (have methods)
