In my spare time, I also do much writing (mostly technical, but also some fiction), develop interactive websites, get involved in local politics, and host two weekly radio shows (on WUSB 90.1 FM,
Stony Brook).

My interest in astronomy (strictly as an avocation) began when I earned my Astronomy merit badge at Ten Mile River scout camp, and then (while on a family boat trip that docked in New Suffolk) was
befriended by Mr. Houston who introduced us the Custer Observatory.  It was many, many years later that I rediscovered the Custer Institute, and with my family have been enthusiastic members ever
since!
