M E M O TO: Prof. Martin FROM: Bobby Huck SUBJECT: Weekly Report 3 DATE: 2017 March 13 Last week, I was installing an Operating System onto a Mac Book Laptop. I also installed UEFI in the newest models since 2012. I also optimized a PC tower and installed more RAM in order to make the PC run better. I learned how to format a Mac Book laptop, which means the Mac can recognize the hard-drive. I also learned that whenever you install a new hard drive or anything internal into the laptop, you have to take the battery out. I also learned what a CMO battery is, which is real time clock on the motherboard. If the CMO is bad, it can effect the Operating System to a point where it won't work. This could affect the system where it won't turn on at all.
