TO: Prof. Martin FROM: Mauricio Portillo SUBJECT: Monthly Report DATE: 2017 May. 4 My internship at the VA Medical Center was a great experience. I learned many tips on customer support like all ways leaving the customer with an answer. Other things I learn the difference between file base imaging and sector base imaging, also help with preparing words document to help explain the naming convention of the VA Medical Center to new interns that may come the VA Medical Center. I help replace desktops from a cyber cafe. Then I was shown how to configure port security. As for April I have being involved in inventory and troubleshooting of workstations, printers and other equipment. I have done imaging and software installations on workstations. As well as test emergency phone system. This is mostly what I do because of the many security layers of the VA. I have learned different tips on quicker troubleshooting and diagnosing. Also the main information fields of any ticket like the ticket number and the log of events. Overall, it was great semester I learns tips interviewing and job seeking. I would recommend that contacts given by SCCC be paid internship, because it give the employer more incentive to give more assignment to the student. At my internship there were times I spend hours waiting for an assignment.
