This month join Suffolk Individual Liberty for a session with candidates seeking the libertarian nomination for the 1st Congressional district here on Long Island. This district, long held by Tim Bishop, has seen an increased amount of controversy over the past year. Those involved in the so called tea party movement, which originally was an alliance of small government loving Americans wanting their country back, have increased the amount of protests against policies supported by the current democrat in office. Well it is time for those seeking Libertarian support to come before an open forum next Monday evening, February 8 at John Harvards Brewhouse (2093 Smithhaven Plaza Lake Grove, NY 11755). The evening will open at 7pm with early arrivals sharing the meeting room in informal discussion and dining. At 8pm those seeking the Libertarian nomination and support will come before the group in an open debate format. We urge all of you that love liberty to attend.

Our March event, Monday March 8 will feature Suffolk ACLU representative Andrea Callan speaking before our group. ACLU, was instrumental in getting the rally held at Hauppauge last year approved by local authorities according to LP member and local attorney Chris Garvey. Many within libertarian, conservative, "tea party", and others were at that rally. We look forward to an eventful evening with Andrea as we look forward to the year ahead at our March meeting.
